Categories of Membership
Membership Qualifications
Full Member: A full member shall have earned a doctorate degree in any of the biomedical sciences, or submit evidence of an equivalent of a doctorate degree in training or experience. He/She must demonstrate to the Membership Committee his/her sincere interest in and contributions to human pharmacology and therapeutics by documenting specific examples such as publications, grants, patents, FDA reports (NDAs and INDs), and internal company reports. Applications for Full Membership that do not provide evidence of contributions to clinical pharmacology will be considered for the Associate Not In Training membership category.
Associate Member: This class of membership is designed for persons exhibiting interest in human pharmacology and therapeutics who have not fulfilled the qualifications for Full Membership. Associate Members shall have no voting privileges. There are two classes of Associate Members, those in training and those not in training. "In Training" is defined as status in a post-doctoral training program. Associate Members may apply for Full Membership whenever the minimum requirements for that classification are met.
Associate Members will be considered by the Membership Committee for advancement to Full Membership by submitting to the Committee a letter stating their desire to change their status with one of the following: updated curriculum vitae, statement listing additional experience or qualifications for Full Membership, or one sponsoring letter emphasizing the additional experience or qualifications.
Student Member: This class of membership is designed for persons pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree and who have an interest in human pharmacology and therapeutics. Student Members shall have no voting privileges. Eligibility for this membership category shall end when the desired degree is obtained.
