What kinds of manuscripts does CPT publish?

Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics (CPT) is the authoritative cross-disciplinary journal in experimental and clinical medicine devoted to publishing advances in the nature, action, efficacy, and evaluation of therapeutics.

NON-INVITED ARTICLE-TYPES
CPT welcomes Reports and Articles in the emerging areas of translational, predictive and personalized medicine; new therapeutic modalities including gene and cell therapies; pharmacogenomics, proteomics and metabolomics; bioinformation and applied systems biology complementing areas of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, human investigation and clinical trials, pharmacovigilence, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacometrics, and population pharmacology.

INVITED ARTICLE-TYPES
Commentaries and Point-Counterpoint pieces provide a forum for perspectives in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics in the context of contemporary scientific, political, economic and social issues.

State of the Art contributions summarize the latest advances in the science underpinning drug discovery, development, regulation and utilization. CPT highlights issues transforming the practice of clinical pharmacology in Opinions (Ethics, Education and Public Policy) reviews. Bench-to-bedside translation in the context of basic pharmacology clinical applications is presented in Discovery, Translational Medicine and Development papers.

What is CPT's policy on NIH Open Access?

In compliance with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Open Access Policy, ASCPT grants limited copyright release to authors who have received funding for research on which the article is based from the NIH to deposit the accepted paper into PubMed Central. It remains the legal responsibility of the author(s) to deposit the final, peer-reviewed paper, to be made publicly available no sooner than 12 months after the official date of publication.

When is CPT published?

CPT prints 12 issues a year, on a monthly basis. The Annual Meeting Abstract Supplement is published each spring. All issues are also published online in advance of print publication (AOP).
